Celebrating Baltimore’s Role in the War of 1812

As a life-long learner with an interest in history, one of the things I enjoy most about being a graphic designer, is the opportunity to work on projects that expand my knowledge of the world around me. Case in point: This spring, I worked closely with Jason Vaughan, deputy director of the Baltimore National Heritage Area, and Bob Cronan of Lucidity Information Design to plan, develop, design and produce the War of 1812 Land & Water Guide. Everything you need to know about Baltimore’s role in the War of 1812 you can find in this fold-out guide that fits in your pocket. The guide tells the story through beautiful maps created by Bob Cronan, information about historical sites, illustrations, and a historical timeline.

Celebrate the 200th Anniversary of our National Anthem during Baltimore’s Star Spangled Spectacular from September 10-14. While you’re there, pick up your copy of the War of 1812 Map & Guide at the Baltimore Visitor Center in the Inner Harbor, and at historical venues throughout Baltimore.
